Apparently comedian Steve Harvey has gotten himself into some personal trouble that’s starting to bubble all over the Internet. What happened? I don’t know. But the backlash from the drama prompted him to make this emotional blanket statement on Donnie McClurkin’s talk show: “The Internet has become this place for evil to dwell.”
As someone who has worked on the Internet for most of my professional career, I have to say that Harvey’s charge stung a bit. I don’t like to think of where I work as the devil’s playground. But how could I disagree with him on the Internet’s lack of moral fiber, when you have examples like “RIP Kanye West” trending on Twitter last week?
In the spirit of a better Internet humanity, I won’t Google up the dirt on Mr. Harvey. But something tells me I’m going to find out anyway.
Lord, help us.
